Goals of ARE Study Sessions
1. To bring individuals together for sharing knowledge and providing mutual
assistance when studying for the tests
2. To provide a continuing path for young professionals to obtain their license
3. To provide a method for the AIA to receive feedback about the ARE and study
procedures to better serve future interns
NCARB’s “6 Month Rule” to Affect Associate and Potential Members - Toolkit
Do your associate members struggle with completing their IDP paperwork? Send out an Associate Alert and save them from losing hard earned training hours as of July 1, 2009** with NCARB’s IDP Six Month Rule. To help you inform your members of the new rule, you can use the boilerplate content provided below in an upcoming issue of your newsletter.
Want to
become a licensed architect and you have already started gaining experience or
have you been practicing in the field of architecture and will consider
licensure in the future?
Keep your options open. Our economy, your personal future, and your practice
bring new challenges and rewards. Be prepared to take hold of those
opportunities, by being ready for licensure. Get credit for your years of
experience and report them now before they expire July 1, 2009** (or July 1,
2010 if you already hold an NCARB record) with NCARB’s IDP Six Month Rule.
The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) now requires
all persons seeking licensure to report experience every six months. **Check
with your local jurisdiction to see if there are any other rules that apply
(i.e. reporting every four months). Allowances will be made for births,
adoptions, military service, and serious medial illness, but you have to plan
